## What this is

Crown Money Management is an Australian mortgage reduction specialist founded in 2004.
This tool is free, carries no advertising, and generates no revenue. Crown Money is a
mortgage and finance broker, not an insurance broker: it does not sell insurance, receives

## Key concepts

**Price walking** is the practice of quoting a low premium to acquire a customer, then
increasing it incrementally each year on the assumption the customer will not check. Cover
does not improve; only the price moves. It is the single largest source of avoidable
insurance cost for Australian households and is invisible without comparing year on year.

**Underwriter concentration**: many retail insurance brands in Australia that appear to
compete are underwritten by the same entity. Obtaining several quotes from brands within
one underwriting group is not a meaningful comparison.
